In My Father's House
I came across this little quote and want to pass it on. I do not know who the author is. "If we are to maintain the great faith which has been handed down to us, we must be like-minded as those fathers who live it. We must not sink into a worldly materialism. We must cultivate the reverence which they had for the things that are pure and holy. We must follow the spiritual and moral leadership which they demonstrated. We must keep replenished, that they may glow with a more compelling flame, the altar fires of true faith before which they worshiped."
I also want to pass on to you a very meaningful poem by Barbara B. Hart entitiled " A Christian Home."
O give us homes built firm upon the Savior, Where Christ is head and counsellor and guide;
Where every child is taught His love and favor and gives his heart to Christ, the crucified:
How sweet to know that though their footsteps waver their faithful Lord is walking by their side!
O give us homes with godly fathers and mothers who always place their trust in Him;
Whose tender patience turmoil never bothers, whose calm and courage trouble cannot dim;
A home where each finds joy in serving others, and love still shines,
Tho days be dark and grim O Lord, Our God, our homes are thine forever!
We trust to Thee their porblelms, toil, and care;
Their bands of love no enemy can sever if Thou art always Lord and Master there:
Be Thou our guest, our hearts and homes to share.
Just a thought from Dr. B.
