Spiritual RAS for 2010 and Everyday

I found this medical article extremely interesting and helpful. I believe it has a spiritual message for us as we venture into the New Year of 2010 and everyday of it.

Part of our brain is known as the Reticular Activating System  or RAS. Our RAS plays a vital part in our ability to achieve goals. What is RAS? How does it work? Read on.

Imagine that you're walking through a busy, noisey, and crowded airport passenger terminal. Think of all the noise - hundreds of people talking, music, announcements, and luggage carriers. How much of this noise is brought to your attention? Not a lot. True, you can hear a general background noises, but not many of us bother to listen to each individual sound.

But then a new announcement comes over the public address system - saying your name or maybe your flight. Suddenly your attention is full on. Your RAS has kicked in and the automatic mechanism inside your brain brings relevant information to your attention.

Your RAS is like a filter between your conscious mind and your subconscious mind.It takes instructions from your conscious mind and passes them on to your subconscious. For example, the instruction might be, "listen out for anyone calling your name." Have you instructed your RAS to listen for God calling your name? If not, now is a good time to program your RAS to spiritual information.

There are some interesting points about our reticular activating system (RAS) that make it an essential tool for achieving goals of any desire for personal goals or goals of Crowley Family Fellowship.

FIRST, you can deliberately program the RAS by choosing the exact messages you send from your conscious mind.

SECOND, your RAS cannot distinguish between 'real' events and 'synthetic' reality. In other words it tends to believe whatever message you give. The Satan counts heavy on this fact to deceive us.

RAS - Spiritual Laws are, according to scriptural comparison, universal principles which govern our lives.

THE LAW OF ATTRACTION: "If something in our outer world is not what we want it to be, look inside and shift how we feel about ourselves." 2 Crointhians 4:18.

THE LAW OF DESIRE:  "Desire is more powerful than wants, whishes or worldly hopes. Desire releases a force that makes things happen." Our desires speak louder than our words. Hebrews 13:8.

THE LAW OF ATTENTION: "Focus on what we want and we will get it." Mark 11:24.

Colossians 3:1-2 states - "Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things."

2010 Church theme and verse - "At Any Cost, Dear Lord, By Any Road." Provewrbs 16:3-4 - "Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and your plans will succeed. The LORD works out everything for his own ends." (NIV)
