When All Else Fails

An older lady calls the hospital and says, "Hello, dahling, I'd like to talk with the person who gives the informaiton regarding your patients. I want to know if the patient is getting better, or doing like expected, or is getting worse. And will she be home for the holidays?"

The woman is transferred to Patient Information and asked, "What is the patient's name and room number?" The woman says, "Shoore, dahling! She's Sarah Jones, in room 302."

The Patient Rep says, "Oh, yes. Mrs. Jones is doing very well. In fact, she's had two full meals, her blood pressure is fine, her blood work just came back normal, she's going to be taken off her heart monitor in a couple of hours and if she continues to improve so well, Dr. Smith is going to send her home Tuesday at twelve o'clock."

The woman says, "That's wonderful! Oh! that's fantastic, dahling! That's wonderful news!"

The Patient Rep says, "From your enthusiasm, I take it you must be a close family member or a very close friend!"

The lady says, "I'm Sarah Jones in 302. Dr. Smith never tells me anything!" (Taken from the SENIOR News Paper, Fort Worth edition, December 2009 "Laughing Matters")

When All Else Fails seems to be this lady's response. We need not resort to behind the back methods of getting information from God. We each have direct access to God through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. If we are not sure how to ask He has given us the Holy Spirit to help. When Christ came at Christmas folks sought Him. Wise men asked for Him. They asked and found Him. The message came direct from God. Matthew 7:7-8 states "Ask and it will be given to you, seek and you will find, knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, he who seeks finds; and to  him who knocks the door will be opened."

Luke 2:24 - "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men (& women, youth of all ages), on whom His favor rests." Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2010. Join us for Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve services. Why not just come every Sunday and worship with us. Pastor - Dr. "B"
